August was a Busy Aerospace Month
The Boeing Supplier Diversity Symposium in Seattle on August 18th was successful. One hundred and seventy-six companies attended with 236 company representatives and over 40 Boeing personnel. I made contacts with key Boeing personnel and Primary and Secondary suppliers to Boeing on behalf of MEAA members. Boeing requires companies to register in their computer system and attend events to develop business relationships.

The Aviation Business Expo held in conjunction with The Great State of Maine Air Show at Brunswick Executive Airport was a huge success. I was able to provide information about MAMe, the MEAA and our members to a variety of people. I made several referrals to U. Maine and SMCC of high school students and people who wanted to retrain for current job opportunities. We had some people with machinist experience stop by the booth asking about job opportunities in Maine. I gave them our ACT database print out and pointed out our members who need people in the areas that they were interested in. AQUEST , an MEAA member, sponsored a 10X20 booth at the show and derived two business opportunities by being there. Paid attendance was over 32,000.

Thank you to all Maine suppliers and organizations that participated in the event showing their support for Maine Aerospace, The military – Army, Navy, National Guard, Marine Corp., Airforce, Coast Guard and the Vietnam Veterans organizations all of whom had booths at the show. Photo’s of the event are on our website.
