TEAM SUPERVISOR
The Team Supervisor supervises the day to day operations of the assigned team, ensuring the personal safety of all associates. Develops associates through frequent coaching and feedback: recognizes strong performance. Achieves quality, production and cost goals through actions in line with the Leadership Competencies and Core Values of New Balance.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise the daily operation of the assigned team. Manages and insures the manufacturing process with thorough planning of personnel, equipment, materials, and other critical resources.
• Ensures the Value streams/teams are supporting and understanding standard work and quality. Consistently analyzes takt time, cycle time and balances the line accordingly with continuous improvements and new style implementations.
• Trains, develops, retains, recognizes, & manages associates; preparing qualified candidates for personal succession.
• Provides clear, consistent feedback, coaching and development opportunities; including timely and meaningful performance appraisals. Leads process improvements and team developments by overseeing the implementation of NBEE/Lean techniques.
• Coordinate activities and coaches Flow Coordinators to sustain Visual Signals accurately on an hourly/daily basis. Analyze production charts and initiates problem solving activities as needed.
• Coaches and mentors Flow Coordinators and Associate Teams in problem solving and continuous improvements. Supports a world class manufacturing environment in which all associates have a framework of operating systems - 6S, Kanban, Standard Work, based on TPS methodology that guide work functions, actions and initiatives.
• Maintains an organized and safe work environment utilizing the 6S program, safety bulletins and guidelines and understands basic OSHA requirements. Promotes wellness programs including ergonomics exercise program, Job Coaching, tobacco free workplace and personal health initiatives.
• Monitors and manages attendance and overtime of associates through the daily updating/processing of E-time (payroll system).
Requirements:
• Requires high school diploma and 3 to 5 years of leading people and teams to high performance. College degree preferred.
• Able to prioritize, multi task and communicate effectively and efficiently verbally and in writing.
• Understands and believes in New Balance Core Values.
• PC skills including Excel, Word and Lotus Notes.
• Project management skills
• Experience in shoe making process or similar manufacturing process: commitment to learn and practice Lean Principles.
